Welcome to Encinitas! I’m thrilled to share with you why this coastal gem in North County, San Diego, holds a special place in my heart. Encinitas isn’t just a beautiful place to visit—it’s a community I’m proud to call home. Let me take you through some of my favorite spots, what I love about the local lifestyle, and why I think Encinitas is the perfect place to live.

The Perfect Beach Day at Cardiff Reef

Let’s start with the beach because, honestly, the coastline here is incredible. My absolute favorite surf spot is Cardiff Reef. There’s just something magical about the waves there -perfect for a morning surf session to kickstart the day. Even if you’re not a surfer, Cardiff Reef is a great place to hang out, watch the pros, and soak in that laid-back, quintessential Southern California vibe.

Dining Delights in Encinitas

When it comes to food, Encinitas never disappoints. Two of my go-to dinner spots are Herb & Sea and Death by Tequila. Herb & Sea is the place to be if you’re craving fresh, coastal-inspired cuisine in a stylish setting. Their seafood dishes are to die for, and the vibe is always on point. For something with a bit more edge, Death by Tequila offers a creative twist on Mexican cuisine with incredible tacos and craft cocktails that are perfect for a night out. Both places capture the essence of what makes dining in Encinitas so special—fresh, local ingredients, a relaxed atmosphere, and a touch of sophistication.
 

A Community that Feels Like Home

What really sets Encinitas apart is the strong sense of community. I’ve raised my daughters here, and they’ve grown up in the local school system, which has been fantastic. The schools are top-notch, with dedicated teachers and a strong emphasis on both academics and extracurriculars. It’s a wonderful place for families, with safe neighborhoods, plenty of parks, and a calendar full of community events.

Speaking of community, downtown Encinitas is a vibrant hub of activity. Whether you’re strolling along Coast Highway 101, shopping at eclectic boutiques, or grabbing a coffee at Pannikin Coffee & Tea, there’s always something happening. The rich local culture has art, music, and a welcoming vibe that makes everyone feel at home.

Encinitas is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. I’m a huge fan of hiking at the San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve, where you can really connect with nature. The trails offer stunning views and a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. For a more relaxed outdoor activity, a round of golf at Encinitas Ranch Golf Course is always a good idea. The ocean views from the course are breathtaking, making it one of the most scenic spots in the area.
